Utility to Merge G/L Accounts?

Does anyone know of a utility to merge general ledger accounts and propagate that change throughout related databases?  Our general ledger has grown ridiculously complicated and I would like to pare down the accounts without losing transactional detail.  Thanks for any suggestions.

    Sage Support can assist you with what is called a Key Change, where the Professional Services department can take a copy of your data files and merge the accounts across all applications. You can email [email protected] to request a quote.

    There is not a tool available to do this within the system.  However, there are a couple of database experts within Sage CRE who do what are called Key Changes.  They would be able to do this for you on a for fee basis.

    Not to go into too much detail, but when making a change like this you have to make sure any transaction entries that are in the data folder have the consolidated GL account instead of the legacy account.
