Trial Balance

Hi everyone,

I have never used sage before, I am performing a review for a client, how do I get a trial balance?  it is now 11/10/2016, how do I get a TB for say 9/30/2016 and 9/30/2015?  2nd question.  how do I GL account grouping?  on the balance sheet it only shows "cash", how can I see which GL accounts are grouped under cash?

thanks,

suzie

  • Since it looks like you are using Sage 300 CRE, I am going to move this question to that Support Group since it was posted in the incorrect forum.

    Thanks,

  • GL-Reports-Financial Statements. Click "Individual Statements" and rollback one or more periods. Choose TBalAccr from the list and print preview to see if it's what you're looking for.
You can print a Chart of Accounts from GL-Reports-Lists-Chart of Accounts. Not sure if this will help with what you're looking for.
  • Hi Suzie,

The Financial Statement Designer application is used to create financial statements. To determine the accounts that are included in the "Cash" line on the Balance Sheet, you would need to go to Financial Statement Designer and go to File > Open and choose the specific balance sheet design to open it. Double click on the line for Cash and you will see the accounts that are included.

Multiple financial statement designs are possible to meet specific reporting needs. The system can create default statements which show detail for all accounts rather than summarizing multiple accounts to one line. To create the default statements, go to File > Create and four default statements will be created: Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Trial Balance, and Comparative Income Statement (one column for each month of the year).

Someone at your client should be familiar with the Financial Statement designer and likely created the financial statements you are reviewing. If not, then it's likely they had their Sage consultant design their financial statements.

If you have more questions, please ask.
