Hi Dustin. If I run into a problem that might cause problems with my GL I make a copy of my "Live" company and run the scenarios thru that. I rename the company in the "copy" so I don't accidentally input data into it thinking it is "Live" Tech support guy said that was a great idea but if everyone did it he'd have a lot less work.

Hi Dustin! Changing the reconciliation status of an entry in Cash Management does not affect the GL at all. It will affect your bank totals and your Bank Reconciliation report which may then need to be corrected.

Can you go into Edit Register and do a simple adjustment? A subtraction with an offset using the same GL account as the cash account you are currently in? That would be a debit and credit to the same account. No GL affect.

Yes. That is often used to make corrections in CM associated with issues in the register where GL is correct but CM is wrong. You can elaborate further on why you would want to make such an entry as the solution may not always be to make an adjusting entry using Edit Register in CM.
