On the server in TS-Main, click Help, About TS-Main. There you will see the full version including any updates that have been installed. For example, your server may have 13.1 Rev. 4 Accounting Update 5. When you install the workstation, you will have 13.1 Rev. 4 but you'll need also to install 1310accupdate5.exe to be on the same version as the server. The file can be located on the server or downloaded from the knowledgebase. The update is a quick install and does not require a reboot.

Problem is fixed the installs on the 4 XP computers did not update registry key

    HKEY_Local_Machine\Software\WOW6432node\Timberline\General\Accounting SIM Server Version\

I did it manual and the program now runs on all 4 computers

Thanks KodiagGene. Was there a server migration involved here? If so, please go to your old server and stop and disable the Sage Installation Manager Server service. Under certain circumstances, this service will re-broadcast an older version to update that registry key on the clients.

While it's possible that the installation didn't properly update that registry key, it's also possible an old server is broadcasing an old value for that registry key and the error can reoccur.

We have had this same issue, and our fix was disable the Sage Installation Manager service on the workstations.

We are disappointed in the lack of documentation of this Sage Installation Manager program, and we only guessed at how it was actually working.  In general Sage Installation Manager is a good idea (In theory), but never has seemed to work, and always required an upgrade to the SIM on the workstations anyway, which defeated the entire purpose of having it.
