Upload a Variation from Estimate to Job Cost

Posted By FormerMember

I am attempting to add a new variation amount to a previously uploaded estimate in Job Cost. I have followed the procedure as detailed in the Help screens which basically required a ‘Change Order Request’ to be created in PJ. The new estimate was uploaded via the Price/Cost Estimate Tab in Change Request using the Estimate Change Request button and uploading a variation estimate. The Change Request was approved and became an ‘approved change order’

The problem is that when printing reports from JC there are no amounts shown in the Approved Changes column. The Original Estimate figures are still shown and are correct.

Note, I have assumed that when preparing a variation, a new Estimate in EE is created being a standalone price for the additional work only, (not the original price plus new work) that is the estimate is added to the estimated amounts already in JC?

JC > Inquiry > Change Order > Change Order Log = no results

JC > Inquiry > Change Order > CO to Committed CO Analysis, in the JTD Approved Contract Changes column, the new variation value is shown

I cannot get the new uploaded variation to show in the JC reports that include an Approved Changes column.

Any advice please?

Thank you for your post !

What version and update of Sage Estimating are you currently using? The version will reference 9.8 or 13.1 in your Help, About Estimating in the software. (example 13.1 Rev 7 Acc Update 6)

This will provide some background for other users to compare/contrast their set up to yours.
