There are no "pre-canned" subcontract agreements that come with the Sage 100 Contractor software. If you have pre-purchased the AIA forms, you could design a form to "fill in the blanks" (similar to the Progress Billing module that has templates for filling in the blanks on G702/G703 forms). AIA documents themselves are not part of the Sage forms as they are copyrighted by AIA.

When you say you've got two of the subs in the system with their pricing, is that in the 'Subcontract' module (6-7-1), or where specifically do you have them entered with their pricing? You would then have to create/add a subcontract agreement form and/or report to use in the 6-7-2 screen, after you've created the actual subcontract in 6-7-1.

Can I buy ready to use forms from somewhere that I can load into sage to make this easier? I realize AIA is copy protected, but surely there are similar forms out there that arn't. Where can I find an A401 form that is ready to go in sage and then how do I upload it there?

I believe you have to buy the forms directly from the AIA organization...you'd still need to design the "fill in the blanks" in S100 form design.

Really, wow, i'm kinda stumped on this one. We do government contracting and use many different AIA forms. Surely, there must be a 3rd party out there selling all the AIA 'type' forms that integrate with and print from sage on plain white paper. Is this a totally foreign idea? Am I missing something here?

Yeah, I hear ya! The AIA is a professional organization that sells their copyrighted forms (and software) to make a profit. So this prevents software such as Sage from integrating the forms into their software without penalties. As I mentioned before a custom form design that would "fill in the blanks" could be designed for you to use in Sage 100 (you'd need to purchase the blank forms from the AIA).

Progress Billing 3-7-51, 52, 56, & 57 all print to AIA forms. So the forms are already integrated into the software. I think we need a better answer to the question: why doesn't Sage provide AIA forms for Subcontracts?
