Modify an Unmodifiable Report

S100C 2014 US v19.5.34.0
The top of Report 6-1-7-31 displays "Job Superviso" and "Estimated Total at Completio."
There is no button to modify the report.
What would you suggest we do to get it to display "Job Supervisor" and "Estimated Total at Completion?"
Thanks,
~j

In addition, the report also cuts off the last two letters of our "Supervisio's" name.

Suggestions on how to fix that are welcome too.

Thank you very much for your post! We are looking into the issue with this report. Because this is not a modifyable report, perhaps as a temporary workaround you can print the report to file - such as to Word- and then edit the text in the Word doc.

    1) Thanks Terry Todd but if I send the report to Word and then edit it and then convert it to .pdf, (instead of just sending the report to .pdf) I'm doing more work than I should have to. Is Sage willing to compensate us for my having to do extra work because their report is fowled? Maybe they can give us a discount off the thousands of dollars we spend each year, in order to have Support personnel tell us "that's something you'll need to pay a consultant to do."

    2) who deleted this post and what were they trying to hide?:

If you send it to Excel, you can see that it's probably a column formatting issue in the report itself, because the entire word "Supervisor" is present once the cells are expanded to show it.  So the field is providing enough characters it looks like, but just seems something is covering the end of it.

Also, it's possible to modify most any report by going to the directory for the system reports (...\MB7\System Reports\), copy the report in question (06010731.rpf), paste it in your local custom report directory (...\AppData\Local\Sage\Sage 100 Contractor\Custom Reports), and rename it so the report number is 20 or below (06010701.rpf).  Now, open the 6-1-7 screen again, and you should see the report in question, but now the "Modify Report" button is there.

Disclaimer: This is a process that won't give 100% functionality to all reports you attempt to modify (some are too complex and the tools to edit all aspects aren't contained within Sage), but as long as there's nothing too complex in the report, this should work.

    ?

    3) Why are the reports too complex and the tools not available? Is this just another revenue generator for Sage and their web of Consultants?

    Very curious,

Funny, I guess a mod thought that to be inappropriate or something.  But I couldn't tell you sir, I've wanted to customize a great deal with these reports, only to find I need to contact my "third party rep" to accomplish the goal.  We're trying to roll out a mobile solution for our technicians on tablets, and trying to get the technical info we need is damn near impossible.  You would be amazed at what it took just to get documentation on the SDK and API, only to be able to verify the process.

Does anyone know if the Update to Version 19.6.5 has fixed this report?

    Never mind, It hasn't.

The following reports now provide the correct amounts when the report selection criteria spans more than

one fiscal year: 3-1-4-51 Receivable Ledger, 4-1-4-51 Payable Ledger, 6-1-5-21 Current Cost

Summary, 6-1-5-31 Buy Out Report~POs Only, 6-1-5-36 Buy Out Report~POs and Subcontracts, 8-

1-3-31 Equipment Ledger, and 11-1-4-51 Service Ledger.

n Buy Out reports 6-1-5-31 and 6-1-5-36 now print for jobs that have only a saved Phase 0 and one record.
