Sick Day - Accrual Cap & Balance on Pay Stub

SUGGESTED

Good afternoon,

We run Sage 100 Contractor 2014 version 19.5.34.0.  Two questions - first - how do we place a cap on vacation and sick pay accrual in Sage?

Next - the CA new sick pay law requires we show the sick leave balance remaining either on the check stub or another written document coupled with the check stub.  Do I need to edit the form design on our current check stub in order to get that on there?  What are other users doing in order to comply with this part of the CA law??

Thank you,

Michelle Ramos

    Hi Michelle

There isn't a way to cap the vacation or sick hourly accruals in the current version yet but its a great enhancement suggestion so please post one.  Do you know how to submit enhancement requests?

In the meantime you could just put the max hours in the field at the beginning of the year and not set up the hourly or weekly accrual for sick time.   Then add that field to your payroll check stubs.  Then when you pay the sick pay it will reduce that "bucket".  Just look up the employees balance each time to make sure they don't exceed their sick pay hours balance.

    Hi Michelle,

You can also set up an Alert in 7-9 to warn you or others when an employee reaches or gets close to a certain number of hours in the Accrued Vacation and Accrued Sick fields in their 5-2-1 record. For information on setting up Alerts, press the F1 button on your keyboard while in Sage, type "alerts" in the search box, and choose the topic "About 7-9 Alerts Manager".
