Federal Filing Form 940 FUTA Question

When Sage Contractor/Aatrix calculates my 940 in the 5-4-1 menu, I am getting a balance in the "payment exempt from FUTA tax" box.

Is there any way to run a report to figure out where this value comes from?  To the best of my memory, we didn't make any payments that would be exempt from FUTA, so maybe one of my payroll calculations is wrong?  I've poked around, but can't figure out where this number is coming from.

    Richie,

This may be late, but the amount that's exempt from payments is any calculation an employee may have that isn't subject to FUTA.  If yours is blank, then you have none.  If you have an amount, you can check your calculations under 5-3-1 to see which Subject to box isn't checked for FUTA, only if it's an employee deduction.

    Hi Catherine,

I looked through my calculations and didn't see anything out of the ordinary.  That's why I was hoping to somehow drill down and find exactly where the values were recorded.

So none of your calculations show as add/deduct or deduct from employee and DON'T have the Subject to box checked for FUTA?  Unfortunately, Aatrix doesn't allow a drill down of those totals.  We do have article 22076 that will explain where those totals come from, so you might be missing something.

OK, I was only looking for "add" calculations that didn't have FUTA checked.

Turns out I have 2 deductions with FUTA unchecked.  One for health insurance payment (employee deduction for additional health insurance coverage) and one for a 401(a) contribution.

On a "deduct" calculation, if FUTA is not checked, then the deduction will reduce net pay, but WILL NOT reduce FUTA wages - is that correct?
