Deposit Slips

Hello,

New to SAGE, we are in the training stages now with a go live date in October.

We just reviewed how to take in money from our customers, and make the deposit into our cash account in SAGE 100 contractor.

1) The problem that we are having now is understanding how we can deal with deposits.  We have been using QuickBooks, and with that software, we were able to actually view/print a deposit slip which for us was a pre printed form letter.  I can't seem to figure out how I can print a deposit slip.

2) The other issue is it appears that each deposit is on a separate line item in our cash account, but when I receive the bank statement, the deposits are one lump sum, not split out.  QuickBooks lumped them together which made it easier for reconciliation.

I have to imagine that there are other companies out there that are used to having a deposit slip print from their accounting software, and the payments lumped into one amount on the check register for reconciliation.  If this software can't do this, is there external software that can be added to it which will allow it?

Thank You!

    Jrashe-

Sage does have checks and forms that you can order. http://na.sage.com/us/add-ons

Let me know if this will work for your deposit slips.

It appears that the deposit slips at the site you gave me are for SAGE 50.  We are running SAGE 100 Contractor.

The gentleman training us said that he has never heard of our version of SAGE being able to print deposit slips.  But is there a add on module or something?  We are so new to this it's very discouraging because I can't seem to find an answer. Thanks

They have forms for Sage 100 Construction as well. You can contact them and ask them about forms specific to the product: Call 800-617-3224 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. ET, Monday through Friday, to speak to a product specialist.

You can also search our approved third party solution providers to see if there are any other companies that offer forms: na.sage.com/.../development-partner-locator

Those 2 places would be the only avenue for forms for our program.

    Thanks.

I will call them once I figure out where you would even go to print a deposit slip in SAGE 100 contractor.  Anyone know?

We are in the training staqe of Sage 100 Canadian.  I went to the sample company and did a receipt for payment of A/R and was able to print it.  Go under file and it allows you to print.  Unlike QB, Sage does not add all cheques to the deposit slip, you have to add them together when you reconcile.  I do not know if you are using the Canadian or US version.  I hope this helps.

I am in the US.  I don't see a file and I don't see a receipt of payment of AR. Tongue Tied

I see how to take payments in using the 3:3 Cash Receipts to take in money to invoices, and then I also see where you can take in money that isn't associated to an invoice at 1:2 Deposits and Interest

I also see in 1:2 Deposits and Interest that if you click the print button, you get a form that says "Deposit".

Maybe our training isn't being clear, but I am completely lost now.

When we take in a payment to a job invoice or a install invoice, we are to use 3:3 Cash Receipts Correct?

If we take in a payment say for a permit refund, we use 1:2 Deposits and Interest-Correct?

So for arguments sake lets say that today 8/8/14 we took in payments on jobs(service), installs and a couple non job(permits).  So lets say I took in 13 checks.   How do I print a deposit slip that shows the amounts of the checks so I can bring physically to a bank to deposit.  (We drive in a vehicle to a bank we do not do anything electronically).

I also would need a list of checks deposited so that when I reconcile I can pull that out to make it easier since our bank lumps all checks to one sum on the statement.

I am sorry if this is frustrating anyone, but I am so extremely lost.Super Angry

You can print out the 3-3 cash receipt from that window- select the printer button. You can also run report: 3-1-4-21 Receivable Journal ~ Cash Receipts.

Have you looked at: Sage U to get information on training? http://sageu.com/

If you want to email directly with your customer ID # I can also provide you some more direction.

All customers who use the program have a customer ID #- you can find it in the program go to Home & Resources about Sage 100 Contractor and you will see a Account Identification number. You should be able to follow up with whomever is giving you the training to get more clarification.

    Thank you!
