What's new in version 20.5

Canadian Edition

  • Canadian Payroll tax table changes, effective July 1, 2017
  • Provincial tax changes (PEI and Saskatchewan)

U.S. Edition

  • New York City tax table changes, effective July 1, 2017
  • Software fixes
  • We fixed these issues in both the U.S. and Canadian editions:
  • You can set up billing for a time and material job without receiving an error saying "Unable to complete operation."
  • When you import time entries from Sage Construction Anywhere, Sage 100 Contractor now uses the higher of the paygroup’s pay rate or the employee’s standard pay rate if you selected the Use Higher Rate (Emp or Paygroup) option in the 5-2-2 Payroll Records or the 5-5-1 Daily Payroll Entry window.
  • We fixed these issues specifically for the Canadian edition:
  • You can create a file for direct deposit that is accepted by the Royal Bank of Canada.
  • You can change holdback amounts on an invoice even when the invoice has a reference to a subcontract.
  • Purchase orders exported from a takeoff no longer overwrite tax amounts for all purchase orders (displayed at the bottom of the 6-6-1 Purchase Orders window).

Note: This error did not affect the calculation of tax for invoices, and probably has no practical impact on your data. However, if you exported purchase orders from takeoffs using the Canadian edition, please contact Customer Support for an easy data repair.

For more detailed information about this release, read the version 20.5 Release Notes.

Important reminder! Version 20 will be the only version of Sage 100 Contractor for which we will provide payroll tax tables for year-end 2017. You must be using version 20 to install and use the 2017 year-end tax update.

Do not wait to upgrade! Because version 20 is a major software upgrade that involves migrating your data to a new platform, you should plan your upgrade now, well before the busy tax season.
