Service Pack Question

SOLVED

We are having our IT people install the latest service pack for BusinessWorks.  Is it necessary to install each of the available service packs individually in order to get all of the updates/fixes, or can we just have them install the last one?  The person who came last week installed SP7, but I'm not seeing the field for the SOC codes, which is believe was in SP 5 or 6.  This is why I thought maybe we had to have them install every available service pack to ensure we get all updates.  I'd appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Sage BusinessWorks service pack are accumulative , so you only need to install the last service pack and it will include everything from the previous service packs. I am not sure what you mean by SOC codes..? When you go to download the service pack , you can review KnowledgeBase Article # 52313 Sage BusinessWorks 2015 Product Update and Service Pack Release Notes. That article has an attachment that lists the items on all the service packs for v2015.
    Thank you-

Thanks. I've looked at the release notes and SP 6 has this listed:
Louisiana LA LDOL – Occupational code or job title (SOC code) field added effective January 1, 2016.

I don't see a field added for SOC code anywhere under Maintain Employees. Maybe I'm just missing it, but I'm not sure.

    Michelleb82-
In reviewing the release notes, the system will not be adding a specific field for the SOC but instead using the existing Custom fieds you can using in Payroll. Sage BusinessWorks is working with Aatrix to pass this information into the LA LDOL form. For specific details on how to do use the Custom Fields for the SOC, please see KnowledgeBase artilce #67720 Louisiana Unemployment LA LDOL Reporting effective January 1, 2016. In that resolution , there is an Attachment that shows you how to use the Custom fields.

Thanks for the response. I had previously seen a post on using a custom field for the SOC code. I was just under the impression there was an actual field added based on the wording on the release notes. We are already using all 5 of the custom fields for other information we need for reports/exports. I guess we will have to find some other place to put this code.

Michelleb82- The SOC field for the Louisiana Unemployment LA LDOL Reporting is a new field to be reported this year.It is unique to the state of Louisiana. The work around in Sage BusinessWorks is to use one of the custom fields as explained in Knowledgebase article #67720 Louisiana Unemployment LA LDOL . The link to pass this information to the Aatrix for the Enhanced Tax Reporting reports is still being created. However, to my understanding the information will only be passed through if your create a custom SOC field - as explained in the resolution. If you do not create a field, then the information will not be passed to Enhanced Tax Reporting for and state reports.
