Preparing to move from Windows Server 2003 32 Bit to Windows Server 2012 64 Bit

SOLVED

I have completed upgrades for our workstations to Windows 10 and Businessworks is working great. By the end of the year we will be replacing our old server. What do I need to know before migrating BW 2015 onto the new server? Is it as simple as making backup of the BW System file and of each companies and then restoring them onto the new server with a fresh install of Businessworks?

Also we have a custom 16-Bit .BAT file to convert one of our companies into a new company sorted by area for customized Statements to print for our customers. This has already been a problem even on 32-Bit Windows 10 machines, we currently have to run the BAT file directly on the server to prevent errors. I assume this will have to be redone in 32-Bit or can this process be done maybe in a VM?

Thanks

You will need to install 2015 on the new server, restore system and data files, install 2015 service pack 4. Then on each workstation, remove Sage BusinessWorks Client through add/remove programs. Then run client setup. Complete instructions for moving to a new server are in Article 51648 on the Sage Knowledgebase.

Regarding the .BAT file you will need to work with your IT tech. If you need additional assistance with it, please call Customer Support 800-447-5700.
