Has anyone modified their Account Balances Report?

SOLVED

I am trying to get an Account Balances Report where the GL accounts go vertical down the side and the Months go across horizontally.  I need a 12 month report but I don't know how to do this.  Before I updated to 2013 Sage BW I was at least able to get all data on page continuously and then copy/paste to Excel and modify from there.  Now I get one GL account per page and the export leaves off the GL account.  HELP Please!!!!!

    Hi Susan,

Go to Sage Knowledgebase at support.na.sage.com and enter article 37417. This will give you instructions for creating a trial balance report with consecutive months activity. Basically you can create an Excel spreadsheet as follows:

Go to GL, Reports, Trial Balance and for Report select Trial Balance Summary and set the following parameters:

Reporting period - Select the first month to appear on the spreadsheet

       Account - All

       Department - All

Include zero activity accounts - Yes

Include zero balance accounts - Yes

Select Preview, then top left of the Print Preview screen click on the X Icon Print to XLS Data Document

On the Excel spreadsheet leave column A - GL Account Numbers, leave or delete column B account descriptions, delete columns C, D, E and leave column F. Column F contains the ending balances for the month you selected to preview. Save the spreadsheet with a new name and leave it open.

Select the next month following Steps 1 and 2 above.

For the second and successive reports copy column A and column F and past into the saved spreadsheet from Step 3 above.

Note: Column A is copied in order to verify that all the GL account numbers line up the same for each consecutive month. Once this has been confirmed you will only need one column listing all the GL account numbers.

Repeat Steps 4 and 5 above until all the months to compare have been copied and pasted into the spreadsheet originally saved in Step 3 above.
