BW 2017 - the client installer on a Windows 10 PC

SOLVED

BW 2017. I ran the client installer on a Windows 10 PC. The install ran all the way through and said that it completed successfully.  But only the Pervasive db part was installed. The client was not. Anyone have any ideas?

If you are adding a client workstation to your existing Sage BusinessWorks network, I would make sure you followed the correct steps for installing Sage BusinessWorks on a client workstation. (In Windows Explorer, browse to the ..Sage\BWProg\Client Setup\ folder on the server and run the Autorun.exe) For full instructions refer to Knowledge Base Article #17415 "How to install client setup."

This is a "domain" issue as far as I can tell. The local PROFILE is not created when added to a domain in Win10
. The Domain/Computer & profile wizard that was in Win XP, Vista, 7 & 8 is incomplete in Win10.

So, you can add the local profile its just harder to find. - The local profile needs "administrator" rights too.

    Also,
DO NOT run the BW client as Admin - it will be created in a "roaming" Admin profile and you'll never get the install to finish correctly.
And you'll get results like the above. Logout of said PC/user and then login as Admin, you'll see the BW icon If anyone does run the installer as Admin, STOP, rollback to the previous restore point. then fix the problem.(the local profile)

Vince, DO NOT run the BW client as Admin was the key. I would have sworn that I have done that in all mt client installs in the past, but apparently not. I was able to run the Profiler utility and fix it. Thank you.
