If you require the This Year column to be Sept 1st 2014 to Aug 31 2015 but the Sept 1 - 30 2014  period is in the last year column you will first have to amend the Last Year column to end with Aug 31 2014 date.

With Sage BusinessVision you are required to have a minimum of 12 periods, so you could break the Aug 2014 for the 11th and 12th periods of Last Year (1/2 month each).

You will be prompted to reorganize after saving the change.

Your previous fiscal years ended on September 30th correct? Does that mean that your last full year financials from the accountants was reported on Sept 30, 2013 and you will be reporting this year-end as Sept 30 2014? and you want to change NEXT Year-end to August 31st, 2015? correct?

RRC is incorrect, you CANNOT change previous year's reporting periods. This is east to do.

Use the fiscal Period utility in BV to change NEXT YEARS periods to end on August 31, 2015 by splitting one month into 2 periods, so that you turn 11 months into 12 periods. You should choose a month with your lowest activity.

OK, got my columns mixed up with my last reply. You should be able to shorten the THIS YEAR column to end at Aug 31, 2014 by splitting a month into 2 periods; so you have a short fiscal year. Then the NEXT YEAR would be September 1, 2014 to August 31, 2015.
