    Hi Seb2;

    You would like to make some inventory quantity changes without using the Receive Inventory option. The quantity fields in inventory module are not available for editing.

    There can be two causes for this;

    1. The user ID does not have the right to modify the inventory quantities.

    2.If using Sage BusinessVision version 7.1 or higher, in order to change the inventory quantity there must exist a Bvinv.ovl file in the data folder. The content of the file is not important as Sage BusinessVision only checks to see if the file name is in the folder.

    Ensure that the user ID has right to modify the inventory quantities.

    1. Click Utilities, System Manager, User Details.

    2. Click Access tab.

    3. Double-click Inventory, Options.

    4. Set Modify inventory quantities to Yes.

    5. Click Save.

    The user should now have access to the inventory quantity fields.

    Note:  If using Sage BusinessVision version 7.1 or higher, check the data folder for the existence of  a Bvinv.ovl file. If the file does not exist, create a file using MS Windows Notepad and rename the file to Bvinv.ovl. The contents of the file can be empty. Ensure that MS Windows is configured to display file endings first. Then ensure that the user ID is configured as per step 1.
