2012 Moving into a New Year

I am using the Sage Simply Accounting 2012 version and I am not able to move into a new fiscal year. When I attempt this it tells me to do an Advanced Database Check. When I do this it tells me "Sage Simply Accounting's Database Verification Tool has found a problem in your company file that it was unable to fix...and asks me to call support. Has anyone ran into this before and found a solution?

    I had this issue before, called Sage technical support 888-522-2722. They fixed our data.

    Unfortunately if you are using Sage 2012 you will likely not be able to get assistance from Sage as that version is no longer supported. They will likely want you to purchase the current version at which time they may be willing to help try and upgrade your data so it functions in the current version.

    The dbverifier writes a log file that may shed some light on the nature of the problem.  If it can't be fixed there is also the option of exporting all the 'ledgers' (lists) from the damaged file, creating a new company file, importing everything and setting up opening balances.

    Also, restore from backup may be an option, i.e. if you restore a backup from a few weeks ago and it tests clean, you could add the later transactions and continue from there.
