We manufacture cosmetics and we use the Bill of Materials for all of our recipes. When we make a batch of product, the BOM takes the raw materials out of inventory. We have a small amount of make-to-stock inventory, and we also make to order. It would be really helpful to if we could see what materials will be required to produce inventory for upcoming sales orders. Is there a report for that or some other way we can see what our future inventory needs will be?

The Quantity report can be filtered to show items below order point.

That report and the Bill Of Materials Component List could be combined using Excel and VLookup to get the report you need.

It should be possible to build a report in Sage Intelligence or XLGL that would give you the information in one step.

Years ago, I looked at an addon called Misys that would interface with Simply Accounting Canadian, and included batch tracking, so if you need that level of sophistication you may want to look at that, too.
