First time reversing out a bank reconcilition

I encountered a discrepancy error when trying to reconcile my current month..after some investigation it appears some previously reconciled date was changed.  I found out how to back out of my last reconciliation from the Sage website which I followed step by step.  After re-adding prior outstanding and then attempting to reconcile again, the discrepancy was still there and was in fact different from the previous amount I encountered.  Thinking that perhaps the data was from yet another month (I'd only reconciled 3 months to this date) I attempted to follow the steps to unreconcile the next month.  When I wanted to print out the account reconciliation report, there was no data.. did all my data disappear by going to our bank account in the chart of accounts and untick the Save box as I was instructed to do?  I'm very confused..and starting to panic :(    Thinking that was the case, I attempted to reconcile the first month again but it now says the starting bank account balances don't match.. I'm completely stumped!  If anyone can help or steer me in the right direction it would be much appreciated

Thanks

    Hi:
When you untick save transactions for your bank account you lose the previous reconciliation reports. However, all is not lost. Just tick save transactions for your bank account again and start over or restore from a previous backup prior to when you unticked save transactions for your bank account.

It seems you have had some timing issues and/or adjustments with the reconciliations to bring it out of balance.

    Hope this helps!

thanks for the reply. my only issue now is that i don't work full time so the next time i go in to work there will be other work saved since I did this. I'd like to just start my reconciliations from the beginning of our current year... as I said I'd only done 3 reconciliations to date. How can I do that without losing any of the new info entered between the date I unsaved the transactions and when I can get back in there to recreate those recons?

Hi all.. I'm still stuck with this issue.. would anybody be able to direct me in the right direction or is going to my last backup prior to my unsaving my account reconciliation data the only option? I'd really appreciate the guidance! Thanks :)

you can test the process by making a copy of your company file
    file, save as

print the reconciliation summary with outstanding transactions
    reports, banking, account reconcilation report
print all three report types for the date range of the last reconciliation

company, chart of accounts, modify the account, reconciliation & deposits
uncheck 'save transactions..', save and close

repeat, and now check the box

    reconcile the account,
enter the opening/end balance per statement

all outstanding transactions from the report print above should be available
if not, click 'add prior outstanding'
'show resolved trans on or after' the day before the reconciliation start date
'insert outstanding', and add outstanding transactions from report above that are missing

once you're comfortable with the test company, make a backup of the real company, and follow the process
