Accepting a deposit from a customer.

I have been trying to accept a customers deposit and when I try and post it in Sage, I keep getting an error message. The message is as follows;

"Transaction is not balanced. Check that the amounts you have entered are correct. Correct the amounts so that the totals are the same."

The deposit amount and the total match, can anyone help me please.
