Someone will likely be able to figure out what's going wrong, if you take a sample of what you're trying to import (without any private information) and post it here.

Also, we would need to know what your tax settings are.

It's easiest if you set up an invoice to import into the UNIVERSL.SAI sample data file, then someone can test with the same scenario. 

If you mean that you are taking a report in a TXT format and trying to import it, that won't work, because the TXT export is in a different format.

The best way I've found, to get a handle on the various import formats and options, is to first export a sample of the thing I'm trying to export.   For instance, set up a customer's IMPORT / EXPORT tab to check off both:

[ ] This customer has Sage 50 and can import invoices and extimates

[ ] This customer uses my item numbers on orders

Then take an invoice and email it to yourself to get an idea of what the format is.    A Sales Invoice that you email to a customer will come out as a Purchase invoice, but it should be almost identical otherwise.
