If you are always using Sage Pro 2011 release C, suggestion at this point is to update your software to the latest release, which is release F, by following the link below and see if you are able to open the data file.

In case you are still unable to open the data file, it means that data is either upgraded to a higher verison (premium or enterprise) or the data is converted to a newer year version (SA 2012, Sage 50 2013 or Sage 50 2014)

I would suggest you verify that you are opening the correct file. There has been instances where the wrong older file was selected and resulted in that same message.

Also rightclick the .sai file and open with notepad - you should see the year and version along with the session date and latest transaction date.

I followed your steps on this (including the download) and it is really weird.....the session and transaction date are back in Sept 2013??  Now what?  Thanks for your help!

.. also the data is up to date and when we open Simply it is showing the correct version as per the way we file it.

Hi Carolb,

Please open some reports like balance sheet or transactions by account and make sure the figures are correct.  If you find out there are missing transactions, it means Smithco is correct, you are opening wrong data file.  

You will have to look up your correct data file or restore the latest backup of your data file.
