When I loaded program (Sage 50 Pro 2015) I noticed icon had changed and program did not load.

First timer here.  Please bear with me!  I posted a PO this morning with no problem. Then when I loaded program (Sage 50 Pro 2015) I noticed icon had changed and program did not load.   Got a message that the shortcut could not find the .exe file.

Checked the program directory and the folder was GONE! After searching high and low i decided to reinstall the program.  It did reinstall but I noticed the icon is different from the icon that was displayed with the program I have been running for three months.

When I loaded the new installation it seemed to work fine.  It even displayed the data file that I used to click on.  BUT, I got a message that said the program I just installed uses a different data file.  So, I am stuck.  I reloaded the program but it won't open the data file That my previuos program used.

Any suggestions ,  Thank you

Try opening the sample file when the program starts up, then check under Help | About to make sure of the version that you are using.

If it's not the version you want or need, check in the Windows Control Panel to see which versions of Sage / Simply Accounting are still installed.

Sage switched from using version numbers like "9.0" to "2004", "2012" up to 2013, then to not putting a version number on the 2014 icon, or in the folder name, back to putting the year in for the 2015 version.

If the data file has been converted from 2014 to 2015 you won't be able to open it with the 2014 program any longer.   If you made a backup you'll be able to restore that (IN A DIFFERENT DIRECTORY) from the previous version.
