I have kind of a similar problem and if anyone could help that would be great. I am using Sag 50 2013 Premium, but I have a file that was used on 2012 premium version. Unfortunately when I try to restore it I am prompted with " The company file you are opening is from Simply Accounting Premium Release A. The Student Version cannot open company files from earlier version of sage 50". Anyone have any idea on what I should do?

I would suggest uninstalling any student versions, reinstalling your 2013 version, and trying it again.

The Student Versions won't convert from one year to the next, it's one of the ways that that Sage prevents use of the student version to do 'real work'.

okay ill try it! And im guessing 2012 cant be downloaded anymore?

It looks like only 2013, 2014, and 2015 releases on the download page.  

If this is for a course, the textbook author or the educator may have the software and matching files that you need.
