Restore 2014 version to a 2013 file

My accountant gave me a backup .cab file in 2013 version.  I have purchased the 2014 version and it will not allow me to restore.  Any suggestions.  I have it on  usb stick.  I have tried to save it but it might be that they saved it to a file starting S: and my harddrive is C:?  Could that be it?

Put the usb drive into your computer, open your Sage 50 2014 version and either select 'restore' or if you have opened a data file then select File -> Restore. Then look for your usb drive and select that as the drive to restore from. Make sure you have selected the .cab file on the usb drive. Then it should continue to restore and at the end it should come up with a warning that the 2013 data files (from your accountant) will be updated to the 2014 version and cannot be saved again as the 2013 version. Select ok as this is fine. It will then ask for a new file name - use the name you have already selected or use a new name. If this is a year end backup file then you could save as Company Name Date Day 2014 YearEnd and then once that has been saved and data file opened then go back into file -> Save As and save again as your regular data file that you do your day t day work in.

Let me know if you still have problems with more details.
