Employee with 2 pay rates

SOLVED

We use Sage 50 Canadian Quantum and have an employee that has 2 hourly pay rates.  I have changed the name of earnings 7 to reflect the 2nd pay rate for this employee.  I am concerned about errors in posting time slips.  Does anyone else have a similar situation, and if so how do you handle it.  Not sure if there is a better way to do this.

Thanks for your help

I have had employees with several different pay rates - regular rate, CWB rate, Night Shift rate, etc etc.

It depends on the person entering the time slips to ensure they are entering the correct data. However do realize there is a limited number of income that will show up on the paystub. So if only the first 10 income will show up then the 11th income that you use will not show up on the paystub but it will be calculated properly tho - it just won't 'show' on paystub. It doesn't matter if you only used the 11th income by itself or if you used all 11 income rates on same paychq, the 11th one will not show.

    smithco,

You are thinking of the original Crystal template with two stubs.  It only shows the original 5 income fields if it has not been modified.  The Crystal one stub payroll cheque and I believe all the sfm templates show any income fields if they are not all used at one time.

Thks for mentioning that, Richard, as that did jog my memory now - I was using 2012 version, it was the Crystal report that I ended up creating as a one stub and the employees were paid thru EFT so it was Sage/Simply's Direct Deposit form which would not show that one earning even if it were the only one used.

Thank you everyone.  I am glad that I set it up correctly, will make sure my staff take care when entering time slips for this one employee.
