Payroll Income Type

SOLVED

Is there a way to change a payroll income type.  An employee was paid a Bonus in error as it should have been a nontaxable income payment.  SAGE will not let me put a negative in the Bonus field under the Income Tab in the Payroll Ledger.

Depending on whether it is in the current or a past payroll year, or fiscal year, you should be able to open the original payment and adjust the type of pay to match what was actually paid.

You may need to over-ride any deduction amounts to match the original payment and remittance.

The non taxable income type was not available for the current year pay periods that i need to adjust so i cant' make that adjustment.  Is there possibly another way to do this?

    Hi Ivis,

You may want to create an adjustment paycheque.

Zero out everything first when you open the paycheque window.  Enter negative amount to bonus income (I test it on my side and it works fine).  If the income is setup to be non taxable, it will not have any tax deduction.

Go through each tax and see if other deduction (in negative amount) is correct or not.  If not, change to manual payroll and then adjust the number.

Remember to do a backup first before you do the adjustment.

    Hope this helps.
