New Payroll Set Up

Hi There, 

My company wants to begin using Sage 50 Pro for Payroll, not for direct deposit as of yet but for cheques in the mean time. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions or tips on setting up a new payroll system before we get started so that we have a firm foundation.

    I googled "setting up payroll in sage 50 canadian", got lots of hits, including this youtube video

    there are many things to consider and setup, and some of it depends on employee benefits package, expense reimbursement, advances - etc

    one way would be to backup your company, and restore as a test company, do all the setup/test in the 'test' company, then do the final setup in the real company

    Thank you very much for the link and advice. I did not think to create a test company but I will definitely create  a test company to work out the kinks so to speak before implementing it into the actual company set up.
