You can follow the knowledge base article link below to export the iif file from Quickbooks and import it  during the process of creating a new Sage 50 Company data file.

Please be aware that it does not transfer transactions nor dollar amounts.

After import, you can go to individual account to enter the opening balance.  Then, you can go to individual vendors' and customers' records, and enter historical transations under the historical transaction tab.

Thanks for that information Keith, but what I want are the transactions and dollar amounts. There is no way to do that without having both programs?

You are correct. 

Another suggestion is to get a trial version of Quickbooks 2011 or 2012 to open the Quickbooks data just for conversion purpose.

This it a TALL order --and you must be good with excel--  but you could ask the bookkeeper to export the JE from QB to excel and then format the entries  to  Sage import  format then import transactions into your new company file. Yes that Is possible to do a conversion with just the data file. No need for you to own QuickBooks.

It has been a significant amount of time since this thread was updated. As of the latest information available to us, direct import tools from QuickBooks Online into Sage 50 are not currently available.

However, there are steps you can take to convert your QuickBooks data to Sage 50 for a historical record:

1. Use QuickBooks to export your lists to IIF files. These lists include the Chart of Accounts, Customer List, Vendor List, and Employee List.

2. In Sage 50, create a new company and, during the setup process, you'll have the option to have Sage 50 create a list of accounts from an export file.

3. Select the QuickBooks option and browse to the location of your saved IIF Files.

4. Follow the wizard to complete the setup.

Please note that this conversion will transfer accounts and balances but does not transfer transactions with dollar amounts. If the balances in Sage 50 are incorrect, you may need to manually update the opening balances or seek assistance from a Sage business partner for data migration.
