I use Simply do do bookkeeping for 5 companies. I use a USB device to back up everything to. One company had a fiscal year end of 30June08. I did the year end then rolled it over to start fiscal year 08-09. I have done 3 months of work on it and printed out the bank recs and just used it last week. This morning when I went to use it again all the last 3 months of data has dissappeared somewhere and it shows data only to 30 June 08 instead of 30Sept08. All my other companies work just fine. I would really appreciate any help I can get.

This is like the electrician asking if the lamp is plugged in - are you using the same USB drive on which you were previously working? Also, are you using the correct file? It is certainly not a common issue to have a part of a file delete itself when closing or opening a file. I have run into this problem before when I have forgotten to change the file name when restoring after taking a back up.

I have always used the same USB drive and all my backups are on it, I know it sounds strange but I had just done a backup 7 days ago and it was working fine.
