Posting to date before data clearing, work-around?

I have inadvertently cleared data in receivables and payables before July 14, 2014. This means I can't drill down to the details. I want to post some new sales to dates before July 14, when I do this, they are also cleared. Is there a way to change this date, event though I have lost the earlier records, so that I don't lose the ones posted now to dates before this? For instance, going back into clear data and saying clear data before Jan 1, 2014. Any suggestions on how I can post to before this date and still be able to drill down?

My payroll, deposits, etc are not affected and quite honestly, I'm not sure how this happened, but possibly when I was clearing data in the inventory.

Many thanks.

On the main page in Sage 50/Simply Accounting go into Maintenance, then down to Clear Data, then untick any that has a tick mark. You can leave this as unticked so that you will always be able to drill down.

I never clear out any data myself but if you need to clear it in order to send a data file somewhere then just do a Save As and call it a different name, clear the data, then send it. This way your original data still remains accessible.
