Foreign currency invoices

SOLVED

Hi, maybe a weird question but I want to make sure that I am doing the right thing here.

My client got a bunch of USD invoices which he paid through USD Paypal. The Paypal account is setup in his bank accounts.

I was wondering how to process the invoices: convert to CAD first, post the payment on the USD Paypal and exchange rate difference?

Thank you, Bettina

Where possible invoices should always be recorded and paid in the actual currency used. If prompted for an exchange rate you can refer to the bank of Canada's currency converter (CRA accepted rates). However, the most important rate to capture would be the conversion from CND funds from the bank to PayPal, unless PayPal is also withdrawing from a USD account.
