Banking Error

SOLVED

Hi,

I am preparing my bank reconciliation and I noticed that there's a $0.20 discrepancy between my book balance and bank balance.

The bank incorrectly recorded a deposit in the amount of $21,970.71 when they should have entered $21,970.91.

I know that this amount is very small, but how should I go about fixing this?

Could I just include this $0.20 to my bank service fee?

Thanks.

Yes - that is a good place to put it. Quite often there are adding errors or illegible printing that causes deposit slips and cheques to be recorded by banks at a different amount. Usually these are just very small amounts - less than a dollar so the differences can be put into bank fees.
