Why the switch to v5.7?
Sage 50 continues to use MySQL databases but has moved from version 5.6.10 to version 5.7.18.
v5.7 was originally launched back in 2013! Making Sage's existing database structure formerly running quite old. We're looking forward to the increased security and performance in Sage 50 as much as you!

Potential Upgrade Issues
Note: May slow down database conversion process, so set aside some extra time to upgrade.
Before you upgrade and start working with your database in Sage 50 2018, take a moment to review the 2018 System Requirements as some older operating systems are no longer supported.
*Tips: If you are working on a network check what OS is used by the "Server" machine and all other workstations. We will not be able to downgrade the database structure so also make sure to make a backup of your data.
