ROE form updates and Alberta tax changes for Sage 50 CA

Less than one minute read time.

Just a short blog update this week to touch on two tax issues. In the spring of 2016 the CRA is changing the ROE forms. You may have received notification of the Decommissioning of ROE web formats, or something similar to that. None of these changes are taking place earlier than the spring of 2016, and Sage 50 CA will be including the updated forms for the ROE in an upcoming update (probably either the late December payroll update or another update in the spring) You can see Article 64677 for the ROE changes in detail, and Sage will be fully up to date with its forms before the deadline next spring.

Another tax related issue to touch on is the changes to Alberta employees who earn more than $125,000 annually. These changes come into effect October 1st, but there should be no penalties for this for the 2015 year according to the CRA. You can read more about the Alberta tax changes in article 68155 for the tax information, the CRA’s approach to this tax change in the 2015 year, and how to account for this in your Sage 50 file going forward.
