The Accountants Edition is available to bookkeepers and accountants who are using, or are looking to use, Simply Accounting products as a means of supporting their customer base. The Accountants Edition is provided to our Premier Advisors and Certified Consultants as part of their partner program subscription and is not available through retail.
The greatest advantage of this particular version of Simply is its ability to open data from all other current versions of Simply Accounting. Basically, the Accountants Edition 2007 can open data in the Entrepreneur 2007, Basic 2007, Pro2007 and Premium 2007 formats without converting the data to a higher format. (The exception to this rule would be if the Accountants Edition is current and the data file is from an older version, then upgrading the data would occur.)
The Accountants Edition is provided to our partners as a way of allowing them to support their Simply Accounting clients regardless of what platform they are on. This also saves accounting professionals both time and money as the days of purchasing all the products (Basic, Pro and Premium) and the appropriate tax updates / support programs is long gone! You only need one product, one single installation, at one price.
The Accountants Edition has some additional product capability as well. One of the most notable features is its ability to open Accountant Copy files. In an Accountants Copy, a partner can make adjusting entries in the General Journal and then have their client import those entries back into their SA file.
