Cannot access Payroll Tax Forms -- "Cannot Start Help"

Using Peachtree Premium Accounting 2011.  Just started getting this message when I try to open tax form.. and ONLY when I try to access tax forms, no where else?   

"Peachtree Accounting cannot start Help.  It is possible that a Help topic is not available for this area.  If you continue to receive this message in other areas, reinstall Peachtree Accounting.  If you just reinstalled Peachtree Accounting, you will need to restart Windows."    

I did a "repair" using my installation discs, and rebooted system, but still get this message ONLY when trying to access Tax Forms.  My Tax Registration for 2012 and updates are all current.  What could be the problem?

  • I am having the same issue.  I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, tried repair in Sage 50, I have tried to do a couple of restore points.  Nothing I have tried has worked.  I hope someone out there can help us.

  • Make sure you have the latest product updates and tax updates installed.  You can go to Help  - About Peachtree Accounting to see what service release and tax update are installed.  Then go here to see what the latest update is for your version.  If there is a more recent update, download and install it.  Do the same for tax updates by going here


    Once you are sure everything is up to date, follow steps 1 - 3 from this knowledgebase entry to make sure permissions are set correctly.


    If it's still not working, follow the steps in the knowledgebase Answer ID 25642.  Since you have already reinstalled, you can try jumping to step 8 where it talks about running updater2.exe to install the Aatrix tax form update.  But if that doesn't do it, I'd recommend going back and doing all the steps in the second half of that article.
