Exception error

I keep receiving the following error message: "the exception unknown software exception 0xc00200001 occurred in application 0x7c812afb" using 2010 Complete Accounting when I try to complete payroll tax returns.  Does anyone have a solution / fix to this issue?  Thanks.

  • More than likely,  re-applying the latest service release will get you back in business.


    • Close Peachtree.
    • Press the Windows logo and R keys on your keyboard to open the Run window, or you may click the Start menu, and select Run.
    • Type regedit in the Open box and click OK.
    • In the Registry Editor, browse to the following registry key:

    • On the right pane of the window, double-click the version string and in the value data field, change the last digit in the value to 0. Press OK.
    • Select File, Exit to close the Registry Editor window.
    • If you are using a standalone version of Peachtree, browse to the datapath. To determine your program path and datapath directory, refer to answer id 21334.
    • Browse into the UPDATES folder and double click on the PCW2010SR2.exe file and follow the prompts to reapply the update.
    • You will also want to reapply the Tax2011Jul_Release2010.exe tax update located in this same UPDATES folder.
    • Once the update is completed, open Peachtree.
