can't uninstall peachtree 2012

  • I need to reinstall Peachtree because my company data path is wrong. I selected the wrong folder. Now, when I try to uninstall from the control panel add/remove programs it tells me that "To install Sage Peachtree, at a minimum you must have one of the following operating systems: Windows XP SP3, Windows XP (64 bit) SP2, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7 Home, or Windows Server 2003 SP1." I have Windows 7 Home Premium SP1. I have tried to get someone in tech support for over two hours.

  • Try using the CD or Executable to uninstall.  If you run the setup.exe it will recognize it is already installed and one of the options is 'Uninstall'.

  • I downloaded the software. Tried the executable. Still does not work. I've been trying to get this install right for four days. One problem after another.

  • 2012 is seriously flawed...May be time to look again at Quickbooks.

  • Is the Peachtree hold music designed to drive people crazy?

  • Well i had the same problem these days. I have installed the trial version that i have downloaded from the internet. This was on my Windows Vista laptop:

I had a few windows programs still opened on my desktop, to which i did not receive any warning to close down.

It was during my 3 rd step of the installation " 3 - 3 Configuring your Computer..." the CPU started to rev up, was making a lot of noise, and the finish installation message never showed up. About 5 minutes into this step and the CPU was working hard, went to stop the process and I encountered  Application is Not Responding ( see image attached , where step 3 is stuck. ) then i tried to run the program, but i got the message "Peachw.exe not found" . I got also the message  where it says "To install Sage Peachtree, at a minimum you must have one of the following operating systems: Windows XP SP3, Windows XP(64-bit) SP2, Windows Vista SP1, Windows 7 Home, or Windows Server 2003 SP1. "

Then i moved over to my other PC, tower computer, which had Windows XP installed. No windows programs were running when i ran the installation. It seemed to have worked fine, but all of the sudden i'm getting the "ERROR INSTALLING PERVASIVE DATABASE".

In either case, no success. What a cheap software. Please see attached images. you guys might be good with accounting but you should hire some good operating system software guys to help you figure out all these system problems and conflicts.
