when i try to produce a report in pdf, i get a "printer not activated" message.
does anyone have a clue as to how to correct this?
(premium 2010, vista)
There is a Answer ID 23444 that addresses this error message. Attached is a PDF copy of the Answer ID 23444.
i followed the instructions, but i get the same "printer not activated" error
also, when i access this printer outside of peachtree entirely, i get the same message
is it somehow maybe related to the amyuni software? or somehow this
software is not picking up the peachtree registration info to activate it?
Are you using an HP printer by any chance?
If so, what model number is it and is it an All-in-One printer?
We've been seeing this error more so lately with HP drivers, especially All-in-One printers. The HP drivers provide the Font and page layout for the Amyuni PDF driver. When that process takes too long (greater than 20 seconds) the PDF or PDF-to-Email function enters a timeout phase and therefore, the operation is aborted resulting in the error code -30.
Would it be possible to uninstall the HP printer software from Add/Remove Programs then to see if the PDF driver functions again in Peachtree?
thanks for looking at this prentice!
I unplugged my hp printer, uninstalled ALL hp software, reset my computer,
and tried it again
i get the same pinter not activated error code 20 from within peachtree when trying
to generate a pdf report.
i also still get the same error message when accessing the peachtee printer by itself outside
of peachtree (it gives me the error message when i access printer preferences.)
It seems as though some Amyuni components are corrupted on the computer and you will need to uninstall and reinstall Peachtree.
After uninstalling Peachtree, please perform the following steps:
1. In Printers and Faxes, right-click Peachtree E-mail Writer v2 and select Delete from the menu that appears.
2. In the same window (Printers and Faxes), select Server Properties from the File menu.
3.The Print Server Properties window appears. Click the Drivers tab.
4. Click to highlight the driver labeled Amyuni Document Converter 2.51.
5. Click the Remove button.
6. Click OK.
7. Browse to the following location in Windows Explorer:
8. If the following files exist in either file directory listed in step #7, move the files to the Desktop or another folder on the Desktop:
9. Restart your computer.
10. Reinstall Peachtree.
By the way, do you happen to have Quicken installed on this computer? If so, do you have the Quicken PDF driver appear in the Printers and Faxes control panel?
i don't have quicken, but do have turbo tax, nothing in control panel
if i uninstall peachtree, will it affect my company data?
Uninstalling will not affect your company data, however, I would recommend making a Peachtree backup file for each company data file before uninstalling/reinstalling.
will do the backup first, i'll let you know the outcome....
thanks again for your help!
complete the uninstall/install, although the reinstall seemed to cause problems, your
tech support got me going again tho.
Now when i try to print a pdf, i get an error that says: "peachtree cannot find
a required file, please reinstall"
I guess i am reluctant to unistall/reinstall again given the problems that caused., but i did
notice that the email printer is not there this time. can that be installed separately?
I'm not exactly certain why the driver didn't install when you reinstall Peachtree.
At any rate, close Peachtree if it is open and in the Peachtree program files path (usually the default C:\Program Files\Sage Software\Peachtree), you will find an application named: InstallAmyuni.exe.
Double-click the icon and the Amyuni Document Converter will install.
Click the OK button when it finishes and then open the Printers and Faxes control panel.
Right-click the item named Amyuni Document Converter and select Rename from the dropdown menu that appears.
Then name it: Peachtree E-mail Writer v2
Then try to email in Peachtree again.
Please let me know if this does not work.
