Receiving the following error message starting up SAGE 500 2017 Cannot access a disposed object

SUGGESTED

We recently upgraded from SAGE 500 2014 to SAGE 500 2017.  If someone exits SAGE500 and decides to log back in less than a minute later a message displays:  Cannot access a disposed object.  Object name: 'Infragistics.Win.ValueListItemsCollection'.  Any one else receive this message and know how to resolve the issue?

    Don't have a great answer.

The quick fix is to either kill all existing Sage500 tasks via Task Manager or via Shutdown Sage 500 ERP Desktop.

I know that this affects SQL Auth logins, but don't recall about Windows Auth.

One thing that can cause this error is when the shortcut you use to launch Sage 500 is pointing to the wrong application.

This can happen if you are running the application and select Pin to Taskbar from the running application

Check the shortcut being used whether from the Taskbar from the the programs start or desktop.

If the shortcut is pointing to "BusinessDesktop.exe" that could be your issue.

check your original shortcut from the start menu it should be pointing to BusinessDesktopLoader.exe with the /S parameter

    Like below:

    BusinessDesktopLoader.exe /S

I'm running into the same exact issue.  I upgraded from 2013 to 2017.  We're on Windows 2012R2 running Remote Desktop with published apps.  Where does the /S go?  I'm not able to edit this when I publish the application.  Is it on the client computer or on the actual server?

    Zus,

This is for the shortcut that is used by the end user to launch the client. The solution I showed previously may not be the right solution for your situation, but when the Shortcut being used is the "BusinessDesktop.Exe" instead of the BusinesDesktopLoader.exe that is the exact error that shows up, so is something to verify for the client machine's shortcut.

If this does not help please contact support and we can try to track down the cause of the issue in your situation.

We are using the BusinessDesktopLoader.exe as the shortcut.  I have a call out to support - they are going to call me tomorrow.  Just trying to research this a little more as it's impacting almost all of our users and has become very time consuming ending the task every time they have to change companies or close out.
