Exporting from Sage 500

Posted By FormerMember

We stopped using Sage as our ERP system 2 years ago. We still access the system for old orders, accounting information, etc... We are still paying to have this system up and running, supported, backed up etc... Is there a way to back up the entire Sage database into a legible file? I am Sage on a in-house server that I wish to get rid of because we are moving to a cloud base storage solution.

Thanks

  • Moving this post to the Sage 500 ERP Support Group since it was posted in the incorrect forum.

    Thanks,

  • I don't know of any built-in functionality to dump the tables.  Even if there was, the data would not be user-friendly as it is relational in nature.

Perhaps you can identify the major entities that you wish to export, and then use the various explorers to export the data to Excel/PDF/XML in a more user-friendly manner.  Any of the explorer grids can export their contents by right-clicking on them.

Even non-Explorer grids can be exported to Excel by right clicking them.

Good luck, and thank for using Sage.
