As Jay says, you have to use Terminal Server or Citrix.

The best part is when the IT guys says "but we have a VPN" as though a VPN magically negates slow WAN connections.

And when they say "but it's a virtual server", like it magically makes things run faster.

Ugh I think I just met the cream of the IT bunch this morning. New VM running Windows 2012 server and they want SQL 2012 installed, plus CRM and the Portal (why I don't know). The 2012 VM server is configured with 2GB RAM and 1 CPU. When I raised my concern the IT person said "well let's see how it runs". Sometimes I feel I'm surrounded by idiots.
