Assembly a BOM with one item at standard cost

I am a Sage 300 ERP 2014 user. I have a sellable item with an account set using standard cost. When I sell the item on its own, the system properly puts the standard cost into COGS. However, when I assemble it into a BOM, it is using most recent/FIFO cost. Why is this happening? and how can I change it so that standard cost is assembled.

That is by design. During assembly the system still uses average cost of the component even if it uses standard costing method. For more details, from the Help Menu of the Sage 300 desktop search for "costing method". You should see the topic about Standard Costing method. You cannot change it.
