Hello,

Something very bizarre happened in the bank reconciliations and I was wondering whether this was a loophole in the system or whether this can be prevented as it is very dangerous in terms of controls over the system bank reconciliations.

A staff reversed a deposit that was marked as "cleared" on the bank reconciliation from the "Reverse Transaction" window in bank transactions. However, despite this item being reversed, my reconciliation still balanced and showed no difference! What is most confusing the item does not even show in my bank deposit detail for the month!

Has this ever happened to anyone else? How can I remedy for this account in the subledger? (I reversed the reversal in the GL already)
How can I prevent this from happening? if I was not involved in the transaction it could have gone unnoticed.
