On attempting to print the ROE for an employee the client gets the error that Unposted data exists. A manual check (unposted) for this employee exists. This check was for the wrong amount. Another manual check for the right amount was processed. Now this unposted check is floating in the system and does not allow the ROE to be printed.

Would appreciate some suggestions on clearing this error

Delete the first manual check.

In Payroll Transactions -Payroll Manual Cheques - the Delete button is greyed out even after entering the cheque details -- quite perplexing

Sounds like somebody deleted a restart record, and the system thinks this check was printed. My vote is you edit CPCHKH/UPCHKH with a database editor, find the bad check, delete it and its UPCHKD records, then run DIC with fix errors on to fix the YTD totals.
