MAS90 or MAS 200 Errors, hangs or Freezes

Hello World,

We are starting to have more and more customers go to window 7 clients.  The customers I will discuss here all have MAS 90 or MAS 200 running MAS from Windows 2003 server.  the clients are a mixture of XP Pro or Windows 7 Pro

After loading update 19 or above on MAS 4.3 and all of the needed windows 7 updates.  Or migrating to MAS 4.4 update 3 and above.  We are seeing many different customers getting network type errors throughout the modules.

for example,

Error 12

Error 26

CI_options not found no info button on this one  (this one seems to appear to occur mostly when opening PO printing)

The standard answer is that the customer is having network drops.  This maybe true but I do not think it is possible that this many customers can have bad networks.  Several have recently replaced all NICs, switches and wiring.

On MAS 90, have found that turning off SMB2 is a big help but not 100%.

we have checked:

virus settings and sometimes turned off completely (server and client)

DEP

UAC is off

permissions on the MAS folders are Full control

turned off IPV4 and 6 offload

setup new users, roles in MAS

new user in the AD

power management on Client, NIC

update firmware and drivers on nic

tried to hard code speed and duplex and used auto negotiate

MAS 200 ran as a service and tested as an  application

there is more but I think you get the point.   Is anybody else running into MAS drops and freeze?

mark

I had a client with the Mas90 running on Windows 7 and had the Mas90 has stopped working when trying to print and with Tech support installed fix LM-4052 that says it happens during Credit card processing which was not the case, but the fix worked.

I do not know.  I guess you could try because the analyst rename the original before installing the new one so if you try it and it does not work you can go back.

Otherwise I would call tech support and ask for sure.  Sorry, but my client was on v4.4 when they go the error.

Maybe I am mis-remembering, but I thought you were supposed to be on at least 4.30.18 & install the pdf driver update in order to be Windows 7 compatible.

I admit, we installed some Win 7 workstations while on 4.30.17 & they worked just fine.  But those workstations were never used for printing or processing, just looking stuff up.

  • have you tryed running the Host program and not Mas as a service, we've had lots of issues with The mas host program running as a service, We are mixed WinXp and Wn7 Mas 90/200 4.30 Build 441  System Version 4.30.0.18

  • There are some interesting topics related to Windows 7, Server 2008, hanging and time out issues which were resolved by adjusting Kerberos Time Out settings.

Do a search on this forum for Kerberos and hopefully you may find some solutions.
