A common request I have been asked over the years has been  "In an ALE lookup,  I want to see the user name not the user key (created/updated)."   My stock answer, was can't be done.   Best you can do is look in sy_user and print out a list of the user ids.

So on Friday,  I got that request again.   Client indicates that some of his users have already have that and wants me to customize other users look ups to do the same thing.   ?????   But "that can't be done" is my response.

Lo and behold,  one or two users in their system have exactly that.

Hunted through the ALE tables and I can see something in these lookups that suggests it is somehow getting the user names into the lookups,  I just can't figure out how it was created.

This is Sage 100 2014 PU 3.

Any ideas?
