FRx Permissions Issue

We are migrating a client to a new server.  Everything in FRx works fine for a server admin, but users who have full permission to the folder above MAS 90 (all is fine with MAS) and full permission to the FRx folder on the workstation get the Error:

The login failed for the &&& company.  Make sure the login ID and password are correct and verify the settings on the System Specific Information page in Company Information.

Rx32.OFSIMain.CheckOFSIConnection
8900: A DirectLink error has occurred  during the ConnectToFinSysEntity procedure.

The ODBC access is good and we even created a new DSN to be certain.

The client is running MAS 4.05 (can't talk them into maintenance) and they do not use ODBC security.  The MAS login has FRx access and if you login to the workstation as an administrator all is well.

Any ideas?

Have you added an account number to make sure the Administrator is working with the correct Server data files?

  • Sure, run reports, compare to MAS 90.  It seems to definitely be a premissions issue, I am guessing registry?

    Have you tried this resolution?

    Run ..\Mas90\Home\Pvxcom.exe

    1. In Windows Explorer, go to ..\Mas90\Home\.
    2. Double-click Pvxcom.exe.
    3. Repeat for each workstation that accesses FRx.

    Did Security change?

Role Maintenance... Module Options...General Ledger... Enable Frx Access?

  • I don't think that resolution is applicable in 4.05. as ther is no PVXCOM.exe in any of the workstation files

  • If I login as a domain administrator it works with the same user id in mas.  Frx access us enabled

This is definitely some sort of permissions issue.

I did have a problem with a server move and a new install of FRX which was solved by installing the Service pack.

    Good luck.
